UPDATED: 6/12/2013 On June 1st, our playhouse was sold for $33,000, which is coincidentally the same price as our playhouse two years ago. Ours Peninsula Creamery was 4th highest price out of 12 playhouses. The SF Giants themed playhouse was sold for whopping $101,000 beating the previous high record by $31,000!

Dreams Happen Playhouse Auction & Gala

Dreams Happen is a biennial fundraising event benefiting Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP). Hosted by Stanford Shopping Center, this event teams local architects and builders in the construction of unique and elaborately designed life-size children’s playhouses. The playhouses are auctioned at Dreams Happen where guests also enjoy a moonlight supper and a chance to dance the night away – all under the stars at Stanford Shopping Center. One hundred percent of the proceeds raised through the auction of the playhouses benefits Rebuilding Together Peninsula.

Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP) is a nonprofit organization that provides free repair services to low-income homeowners and community facilities that serve those in need. Their mission is to help lowincome people to live in warmth, safety and independence. By working with thousands of volunteers each year, RTP can provide free repair services that rebuild homes, lives, and dreams. Eleven playhouses will be auctioned during the Dreams Happen Auction & Gala on June 1, 2013. Event tickets are $90 until May 15 and $110 thereafter. Playhouse Raffle tickets are $5 each. Additional funds are raised through the “Dream Box Drawing,” where guests can purchase a $100 raffle ticket for a chance to win the “Dream Box” – a huge gift basket filled with Stanford Shopping Center merchandise and gift certificates.
Since 1993, Stanford Shopping Center has co-sponsored and produced the biennial Dreams Happen event benefiting Rebuilding Together Peninsula. Each playhouse is custom and has sold for $13,000 to $71,000. Over the past 18 years, Dreams Happen has raised over $2.8 million for Rebuilding Together Peninsula and been instrumental to the preservation of affordable housing in the Bay Area peninsula.
Stanford Shopping Center merchants and restaurants, participating architects and builders, and a host of volunteers donate time, funds and resources to make the Dreams Happen Auction and Gala a success. Shopping Center Merchant Involvement
